As we prepare the table for his wintery dinner party, the white blossoms hold the promise of the coming season. Late winter is a wonderful time to gather, just before the snow begins to melt.
Setting the table
Morgan places a pasta plate on a 10" flat dinnerplate. the flat rounds have a great way of stacking but also provide a perfect perch for non soupy entrees. A piece of grilled meat with a side veg, maybe some risotto, works well on this shape.
We moved the big barn wood table from the studio over to the house for this meal. A rectangular table next to a round table looked awesome in my living room. The wooden blocks down the center of the table provide pedestals for the tea lights we chose to set the mood for the evening.
These pieces work well as a kind of mix and match. The palett works well together so that helps remove the guess work. Annie lounges in the background.
Tea lights cast a fair amount of light for a cozy dinner. White flowers on vases chosen form the studio help set the tone for this relaxed and fun evening. We used table runners instead of place mats or a table cloth to show off the beautiful finish of my great grandmother's mission style dining room table.

Large low bowl
My low bowls are perfect for salad or any sizable amount of food you may have on offer. The large low bowl is perfect for a largish crowd, 12 or so in my house. We get local greens in the winter here in Columbia County from the Berry Farm, who have a fabulous solar green house system set up.

Bread and butter
A large boule of sour dough bread on a large oval platter, butter in a small ovel tray, cakes plates stacked next to coffee cups. Lunch is almost ready.
low bowl with salad
We do lunch here at the studio everyday. Mike Altobello did a photoshoot for us recently, at lunch. Yum!!
