Mary Anne Davis
Mary Anne Davis is a nationally recognized ceramic artist operating a studio in the Hudson Valley. Her work can be seen across the country in galleries, stores, and museums. Davis has a BFA in ceramics from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and an MFA in sculpture from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. She recently finished a dissertation for a Ph.D. in critical theory and aesthetics from IDSVA about the artist’s role in community and economies through a history of porcelain.
Janet McKean comes to davistudio via large department stores, small boutiques, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago and most recently her businesses Found Objects and Lost & Found in North Carolina. She is loving life in the Hudson Valley living in a lovely cottage on a hill with her cat Miss Sweetpea.
Chris loves the domestic life and is a terrific cook and gardener. She got a BFA from Alfred University and enjoys making crafty things for her grandchildren.
As a long time Spencertown resident, Eve raised her son, ran a small business and spent decades in the hospitality industry. Now she enjoys splitting her work life between davistudio and the Spencertown Academy Arts Center, all in her hometown. Foodie pursuits, yoga, reading, and life at home round it out.
Jannelle is an artist living in Catskill. She also works at the Rivertown Lodge in Hudson.
Eliza Ulmer graduated from Suny Plattsburgh with a BFA in painting and ceramics. She enjoys yoga, gardening and hiking. Her favorite movie is the Lord of the Rings series and she has 5 chickens and one rat named Mira.
