About

MaryAnne Davis in the studio

davistudio is the production side of the artistic practice of Mary Anne Davis. Davis is a nationally recognized ceramic artist with work that can be seen across the country in galleries, stores, and museum shops. Davis’s studio practice includes the production of functional porcelain objects as well as installations and multimedia collages, montages and relational aesthetic interactive experiences. Production is assisted with help from Chris Carr, Janelle Roberts and Eve Zatt. Janet McKean helps in the office and everywhere, with sales and relationship management. Anthony Reyome does our books. Liz Collins has helped put this beautiful website together. Mike Altobello and Nic Flood have taken many of the photographs here. Meghan Mercier helps with web updates.

Davistudio has shipped work all over the world. While we are proud of our broad audience, we are dedicated to our local and regional market here in upstate New York and that inspires much of our activity.

Davis has a BFA in ceramics from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and an MFA in sculpture from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. She is currently working on a Ph.D. at the Institute for Doctoral Studies in the Visual Arts located in Portland, Maine writing a dissertation on a three hundred year history of porcelain and its relationship to economics and philosophy.

Davis lives in Spencertown, New York with her husband, two cats, two dogs and one son in college. And Janet and Sweet Pea next door.
