This is a wonderful tucked away event that we did for the first time last year. It is only 5 hours long, so is easy for us, and it kicks off our holiday show season. The venue is warm and inviting, housed in the new community center just off off 7 in Great Barrington. There was a portable wood pizza vendor that made the most delicious thin crust pizza last year and I suspect there will be more delicious food vendors on site this year. The other vendors are some the Berkshires most talented artisans. Our friends Chris and Josh will be there with their lovely cutting boards, makers and purveyors of JK Design, as will Janet Mckinstry, maker of my favorite computer bag. Tom Kenny will be there with his gorgeous wooden bowls as well as other local artisans with art, handmade craft home items and food stuff.
“If Black Friday is synonymous with all that is wrong with capitalism, then the worthy antithesis to this unofficial sale-worshipping holiday is the Basilica Farm & Flea” – Cool Hunting
Hudson River Exchange presents its now famous (infamous?) Farm and Flea at the Basilica in Hudson, NY - a well curated collection of local makers, food growers and producers and all around fun stuff. This will be our second time at this event, but our commitment to Hudson River Exchange runs deep. Kate and Stella run a tight ship and care about everyone - artists and buyers alike. We are lucky they are here and doing this. I am glad to be part of it all.

The studio has been busy this summer, filling orders, getting organized and working toward this mid summer mark. There will be plenty of new work to see and purchase, as well as a treasure trove of archives cleaned out and up for “fire sale”. Unique, older work marked down to move out. Come and get gifts, add to your collection or just splurge a little. Support the arts and the small studio movement!
This year is the 10th annual Hidden Garden Tour at the Spencertown Academy in my beautiful, rural yet sophisticated home town of Spencertown, NY. Nestled in the Hudson Valley, Spencertown boasts some pretty amazing gardens and some very dedicated gardeners. This year's organizers include Madaline Sparks, the garden editor at Real Simple Magazine and Rae Gilson, a life long art aficionado and event planner extraordinaire.
There is a wonderful garden market on the green in the center of Spencertown, an out of the way, exceptionally picturesque little burg in Columbia County.
